Keynesians argue that uncertainty about the future leads individuals to allocate part of their surplus income to interest-rate-based speculative activities. Prevailing optimism and pessimism in financial markets, through speculative bubbles, expose money and capital markets to severe fluctuations and recurrent crises. Therefore, this article examines uncertainty and belief in the Unseen and their effects on individual monetary decisions. The study employed the Grounded Theory Method to analyze the data. Through a rigorous analysis of Quranic verses and selected narrations of the infallible, this paper concludes that faith in God grants individuals inner peace and alters their behavioral responses to economic uncertainties. Consequently, believers harbor no anxiety over the depletion of their wealth and are willing to spend it in God's cause. Hence, paying obligatory and recommended alms is a fundamental pillar of the Islamic economic system. Together with the prohibition of interest, this pillar restrains interest-based speculative activities. Supported by trade and business activities, this mechanism creates two major components—social consumption and social investment—that increase effective demand and activate unused production capacities. Accordingly, belief in the Unseen fosters higher levels of production and employment in the economy without experiencing fluctuations.
