All of these studies  only  focus  on the  effects  of  demand-side  and  so  the effects  of  supply-side are  neglected. The  main aim  of this paper  is  filling  this  gap  and  considering  the  effects  of  demand-side  and  supply-side  simultaneously (and  so  review  of  total  effect) effects  of  government  size  change  on  economic  growth. In order to achieve this goal Iran's economy data during 1966­­ - 2007 have been used. The  results  shows  that  government  size  from  supply- side (by  way of putting  into productivity  factors  and  share of private investment in GDP)  has  negative  effect  on economic  growth  and  from  demand- side  has  positive  effect. Also, this  result has been achieved  that  the negative  effects  of supply- side  overcome  the  positive  effects  of  demand- side   and  so  the  total  effect  of  government  size  on  economic  growth  will  be  negative. مطالعات متعددی در اقتصاد ایران وجود دارد که به بررسی تأثیر اندازة دولت بر رشد اقتصادی پرداخته و به نتایج متفاوتی دست یافته‌اند. برخی از این مطالعات به تأثیر مثبت و برخی دیگر به تأثیر منفی اندازة دولت بر رشد اقتصادی ایران اشاره می‌کنند. در کلیه این مطالعات تنها به تأثیر سمت تقاضا توجه شده و آثار سمت عرضه‌ای آن مورد غفلت قرار گرفته است. هدف مطالعة حاضر پر کردن این شکاف بوده و به دنبال بررسی آثار سمت تقاضا و سمت عرضه‌ای به طور همزمان (و بنابراین بررسی اثر کل) تغییر در اندازة دولت بر نرخ رشد اقتصادی است. برای رسیدن به این هدف از داده‌های اقتصاد ایران برای دوره زمانی 1345-1386 استفاده شده است. نتایج این مقاله نشان می‌دهد که اندازة دولت از سمت عرضه  (از طریق بهره‌وری عوامل تولید و نسبت سرمایه‌گذاری خصوصی به تولید) بر نرخ رشد اقتصادی تأثیر منفی داشته و از سمت تقاضا دارای تأثیر مثبت می‌باشد. همچنین این نتیجه حاصل شده است که آثار منفی سمت عرضه بر آثار مثبت سمت تقاضا غلبه کرده و باعث شده است که اثر کل اندازة دولت بر نرخ رشد اقتصادی منفی باشد.  https://economic.mofidu.ac.ir/article_26168_b8248e8a48c474575dd986a767145894.pdf
